Rashford Shines on Barcelona Debut in Japan Friendly Win!

The football world buzzed this weekend as Marcus Rashford officially donned the Barcelona colors for the first time. On Sunday, July 27, the England international made his highly anticipated debut during Barcelona’s pre-season friendly against Vissel Kobe in Japan, helping his new side secure a comfortable 3-1 victory.

Rashford, who recently joined Barca on a season-long loan from Manchester United, entered the fray as a half-time substitute, replacing Raphinha on the left wing. Wearing the No. 14 shirt, he showcased glimpses of his pace and directness.

Though he played for just 33 minutes before being tactically substituted, he was instrumental in Barcelona’s second goal. He drove infield before threading a precise pass to Robert Lewandowski, who then teed up fellow debutant Roony Bardghji for a debut strike.

Goals from Eric García, Roony Bardghji, and Pedro Fernández sealed the win for Hansi Flick’s side. While Flick explained Rashford’s early substitution was to “look after him” as he’s “a week behind” in training, the performance was a promising start for the 27-year-old.

This debut marks an exciting new chapter for Rashford, offering a fresh opportunity to reignite his career at one of Europe’s biggest clubs. Fans will be eagerly watching his progress as Barcelona continues its pre-season tour.
